Police arrested a person in Naiwala area who was keeping a stock of fuel without a license. Police seized 105 litres of petrol and 71 litres of diesel during the raids on July 29. Suspect to be produced before Attanagalla court today.
During last 24-hour period, police arrested 25 people who were in possession of hoarded fuel stocks. The police seized 711 litres of petrol and 6,680 litres of diesel during the raids.
So far police arrested over 1100 persons who were in possession of hoarded fuel stocks during raids carried out island-wide. The police seized about 36,000 litres of petrol and 119,000 litres of diesel during the raids. ( LankaXpress.com )
