At least 11 persons have died, 5 injured and over 7100 people have been affected due to the adverse weather conditions prevailing in several parts of Sri Lanka during last two weeks. According to DMC report, 2 houses are fully damaged, and 89 houses are partially damaged due to bad weather. 222 people displaced. 16 districts were affected.
Massive rainfall of 300 mm reported in Nochchiyagama in Anuradhapura district and 243 mm reported in Jaffna during last 24 hours. Meanwhile, Department of Meteorology say that the low pressure area is still persist in the vicinity of Sri Lanka.
