Sri Lanka Promotes Investment Opportunities and Expo 2027 at SPARK 2026 in Malaysia

Sri Lanka showcased its investment potential and a portfolio of Ready-To-Invest (RTI) projects at the 6th Selangor Investment & Industrial Park EXPO (SPARK 2026), which was held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) from 14 to 17 October 2026.

The inauguration of Sri Lanka’s presentation at SPARK on 14 October was graced by the presence of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah, who joined Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner to Malaysia, Dharshana M. Perera, for the ribbon-cutting ceremony and the traditional lighting of the oil lamp, reflecting the importance of strengthening the economic cooperation between the two countries.

The High Commission of Sri Lanka in Malaysia, supported by the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka (BOI), participated at SPARK-2026, as a part of its broader economic diplomacy efforts to translate longstanding bilateral relations with Malaysia into tangible economic opportunities, attract vital foreign direct investment (FDI), and foster mutually beneficial partnerships that contribute to sustainable economic growth.

Attracting more than 1,000 participants, SPARK 2026 brought together investors, business leaders, industry representatives and other stakeholders, mainly focusing on Tech Park, ICT, Real Estate and several other key areas.  This provided Sri Lanka with an opportunity to showcase its investment proposition, establish business connections and highlight avenues for collaboration with Malaysia.

This investment promotion initiative focused on positioning the Sri Lanka as an attractive investment destination and highlighting opportunities for Malaysian investors in Ready to Invest (RTI) projects in energy, tourism & leisure, ICT & Tech Park, manufacturing, agriculture, shipping & logistics and real estate.

Alongside its investment promotion efforts, Sri Lanka promoted Expo 2027, using SPARK 2026 as an opportunity to raise awareness of the forthcoming event among the Malaysian audience and encourage international interest.

Sri Lanka’s presence at SPARK – 2026 is part of the High Commissions initiative to generate greater visibility to the opportunities for intensified collaboration with Malaysian corporates.
