Sri Lanka’s Official Reserves Fall 1.1% to USD 6.85 Billion
Sri Lanka’s official reserve assets declined by 1.1% to USD 6,851 million in September 2026, down from USD 6,929 million recorded in August, according to the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL).

The country’s official reserve position includes funds received under the People’s Bank of China (PBOC) swap arrangement.
However, the CBSL clarified that the use of these funds remains subject to the applicable conditions under the swap agreement.
