Shiranthi Rajapaksa’s Anticipatory Bail Bid Rejected by Court

The Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court has dismissed the anticipatory bail application submitted by former First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa.

She had filed the application seeking protection from possible arrest by the Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) over an investigation related to the Siriliya Saviya account.

The application was considered by the court on October 6. On that occasion, the court also issued a notice requiring the Officer-in-Charge of the FCID to appear before the court today (12) and provide details regarding the investigation.
