The President’s Media Division says that approximately 98% of the country’s population over the age of 30 years has been vaccinated with both doses of Covid-19 vaccines. 

Over 55% of the total population in Sri Lanka have been administered with two dose of a COVID-19 vaccine says Health Minister.

100% of the population over the age of 60 has been vaccinated. The President also instructed the relevant officials to take steps immediately to vaccinate those who are in the age group of 20-30.

More than 10,000 children with congenital diseases between the ages of 12 and 19 have been vaccinated so far. The Provincial Directors of Health Services stated that vaccination of these children will be carried out continuously in all hospital clinics in the country.

The vaccination of people in the age group of 20 to 30 years and the vaccination of children aged 12 to 19 years, who are with chronic diseases, is being carried out successfully.

According to COVID19 Vaccine rollout tracking, So far over 14.6 million first doses of the coronavirus vaccines have been administered in Sri Lanka. Over 66% of the total population in Sri Lanka have been administered with at least 1 dose.

As of now about 82% of the country’s population above the age 20 has received the 2nd dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Over 12.1 million second doses of the coronavirus vaccines have been administered in Sri Lanka. (LankaXpress.com)
