A Maldivian national was arrested with a firearm resembling a revolver at the departure lounge of Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake last night.
Police said that the Maldivian national had arrived at BIA to depart Sri Lanka for the Maldives.
During the scanning of his luggage, a firearm similar to a revolver was discovered.
The Airport Police are conducting an investigation into the 58-year-old Maldivian national.
