Pfizer Vaccination Registration: Children with co-morbidities 12-19 years only
The Registration for Pfizer is only open for children between 12-19 years of age and with specific co-morbidities. Please click here for eligible conditions for vaccination. You need to bring all the medical records of the child. They will be assessed by a Consultant Paediatrician before deciding whether vaccine would be given or not. Therefore registering for vaccination does NOT guarantee that the vaccine will be given.
Specialist doctors urge parents and adults not to fall prey to superstitions & myths and to refer children for vaccination without hesitation.
The vaccination is carried out with the recommendations of the expert committees of the world and in our country and they also inform that successful results can be achieved through accurate understanding and interest without undue fear.
Vaccination for congenital children and children suffering from chronic disease will commence from September 24 at the Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children (LRH), Colombo, said Dr. Anuruddha Padeniya, Pediatrician. Accordingly, he advised parents to refer children suffering from chronic diseases including diabetes, neurological diseases, kidney disease, heart disease, thalassemia and diseases of the urinary tract and esophagus. Dr.
Anuruddha Padeniya said that they are planning to administer the vaccine with the permission of the parents with the recommendation of the relevant specialist doctor by visiting the clinics where they are being treated.
It has been decided to vaccinate children under three age groups. Accordingly, the first vaccination is given to congenital children between the ages of 12-19 years. The doctors said after that the vaccination will be given to healthy children in the age group of 15-19 years and later the vaccination will be given to 12-15 year olds as soon as they receive specialist recommendations.
