According to COVID19 Vaccine rollout tracking, So far over 14.7 million first doses of the coronavirus vaccines have been administered in Sri Lanka. Over 57% of the total population in Sri Lanka have been administered with two dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Over 68% of the total population in Sri Lanka have been administered with at least 1 dose.
As of now about 85% of the country’s population above the age 20 has received the 2nd dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Over 12.5 million second doses of the coronavirus vaccines have been administered in Sri Lanka.
Health Officials say that approximately 99% of the country’s population over the age of 30 years has been vaccinated with both doses of Covid-19 vaccines.
The vaccination of people in the age group of 20 to 30 years and the vaccination of children aged 12 to 19 years, who are with chronic diseases, is being carried out successfully. (LankaXpress.com)
Administering of the Pfizer vaccine for students who are sitting for the A/L Examination and those who have sat once before, will commence in all Colombo education Zones from October 15.
