Showery condition is expected to continue further over most parts of the island due to an atmospheric disturbance in the vicinity of Sri Lanka. Fairly heavy showers above 75mm are likely at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, Central & North-Western provinces. Fairly heavy showers above 50 mm can be expected at some places elsewhere.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Western, Sabaragamuwa, North-Western and Northern provinces and in the Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in Eastern and Uva provinces during the afternoon or night.
Strong winds about (40-50) kmph can be expected at times over western and southern coastal areas and in the western slopes of the central hills.
General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
