Sri Lanka records 891 coronavirus cases

For the 7th consecutive day, Sri Lanka records over 800 COVID cases. Today Sri Lanka reported 891 coronavirus cases. This caseload is the highest daily cases after 3 months. Test positivity rate is also increasing and the 7-day average is 10.6%. According to the health officials, omicron variant is now becoming the dominant variant that causes most COVID cases in Sri Lanka.

So far more than 275 Omicorn cases detected in Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka has reported 603,654 COVID-19 cases out of which 576,540 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospitals, bringing down the active patient count to over 11,784. A total of 15,330 deaths have been reported from the virus.

About 6000 COVID cases have been reported in Sri Lanka within the last 7 days. The number of Covid-19 cases reported within the last 7 days listed as 5,947. Sri Lanka is currently doing about 7700 PCR tests daily.
