Puttalam High Court Judge refused the bail to Hejaaz Hizbullah

The Puttalam High Court judge has refused the bail order as it is not under her jurisdiction, despite the Attorney General consenting to bail. The judge informed the defense to request bail from Court of Appeal on 9th of February 2022.

The trial of considering bail to Attorney-at-Law Hejaaz Hizbullah begins at the Puttalam High Court today. On January 20, Attorney General informed the Appeal Court that they would consent to the granting of bail to Hejaaz Hizbullah.

“I want to thank everyone who is raising their voice on my behalf, we will keep on fighting” said Hejaaz Hizbullah while walking into the Puttalam High Court.

Hejaaz Hizbullah was arrested on 2020 April 14 and was under detention. After 10 months of detention at the Police CID, he was produced before a Magistrate and remanded.
