In a view to strengthen longstanding religious connectivity between the two countries, Myanmar Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing presented marble replicas of Maravijaya Buddha Statue, to be handed over to the President and the other high dignitaries of Sri Lanka government.

These replicas were officially handed over to the Sri Lanka Ambassador in Myanmar on 10 August 2023 at the Embassy by a special envoy of Myanmar Prime Minister.

Ambassador Janaka Bandara and the other officials of the Embassy received the replicas with utmost respect and paid homage offering ‘buddhapooja’.

The sacred Replicas of Maravijaya Buddha Statue will be airlifted to Sri Lanka soon.
