The new Kelani Bridge at Peliyagoda “Golden Gate Kalyani”, built on high-tech stay cables was vested with the public by Sri Lanka President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa November 24th evening.
The six-lane bridge, which aims at easing the traffic congestion in Colombo and suburban areas, is the first ever to be constructed in Sri Lanka with hi-tech stay cables. The bridge constructed with advanced technology is funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
