There is a high possibility of further increasing of current flood situation in low line areas of Kalu River Valley situated in Horana, Agalawatta, Ingiriya, Painda Nuwara, Bulathsinhala, Dodangoda, Millaniya, Madurawala and Kalutara D/S Divisions. People living in downstream and river banks be vigilant.
The flood warning issued at 1.00 a.m. on 4th June 2021 for Kalu ganga basin is valid until 1.00 a.m. on 6th June 2021. Accordingly the current rainfall situation to the catchment and river water level of Hydrological stations in Kalu River, it is warned that there is a high possibility of further increasing of current flood situation in low line areas of Kalu River Valley situated in Horana, Agalawatta, Ingiriya, Painda Nuwara, Bulathsinhala, Dodangoda, Millaniya, Madurawala and Kalutara D/S Divisions. The residents of the area and drivers of the vehicles running through those areas are requested to pay high attention in this regards in order to save valuable lives and public and private properties. The Disaster Management Authorities and District/ Divisional Administrations are requested to take necessary precautions in this regards. (Please see attached map – Attachment 01)
