DSI Announces 23rd DSI Supersport Schools Volleyball Championship

DSI officially launched the 23rd edition of the DSI Supersport Schools Volleyball Championship at a press conference held at Hotel Nippon, Colombo 02, on 8th May 2025. Sri Lanka’s No. 1 footwear brand is organizing this prestigious tournament in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation and the Schools’ Volleyball Association of the Ministry of Education.

Launched in 1999 by DSI, along with the Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation and the Ministry of Education, the championship was established to support and create opportunities for young volleyball players from both urban and rural areas. It also serves as a national platform to showcase their talents and help them advance to national and international levels. Since its inception, the tournament has hosted 198 teams and contributed to the development of nearly 400 sports personalities. This year, over 4,000 teams from across the island are expected to participate.

“2025 is a special year for DSI as it marks the 23rd anniversary of the DSI Supersport Schools Volleyball Championship. It is both an honour and a privilege for DSI to sponsor this highly anticipated annual event, which provides a platform to recognise and nurture young sportsmen and women from schools across the country. We hope this championship continues to play a vital role in popularising volleyball, our national sport,” said Mr. Thusitha Rajapaksa, Managing Director of D. Samson & Sons (Private) Limited.

The tournament will be held in the following age categories for both boys and girls: Under-11, Under-13, Under-15, Under-17, and Under-19.
