It has been reported to the Chawalakade Police Station that a person who went down to Kalmunai Lagoon was grabbed by a crocodile. It has been reported that this person was walking with a herd of cattle on the Kalmunai main road, when several cattle jumped into the lagoon and this person went down to the lagoon to retrieve the cows.
The body of this person has not been found yet and the Navy and the Ampara Life Saving Unit are conducting operations to find the body. A 30-year-old resident of Chenaikudiyiruppu area has gone missing after grabbing a crocodile.
