Kandy Division Children’s and Women’s Bureau has started an investigation regarding the assault of a group of girls and boys studying in a private school located in Bokkawala police area in Kandy by the school’s principal and teachers in a dormitory. As a result, four teachers and two hostel wardens of this school have been arrested by the Children’s Bureau.
On further investigation, it has been revealed that five girls and five boys have been punished for disciplinary reasons in the dormitory of this private school. The suspects will be remanded until the 20th of March after being presented to the court.
The brutalized children are scheduled to be presented to the doctor at the Kandy Hospital.
