On September 26th, President Ranil Wickremesinghe of Sri Lanka is set to embark on a journey to Germany to take part in the Berlin Global Dialogue. This newly established international forum brings together leaders from both the business and policy realms with the shared aim of seeking collaborative solutions for a global economy in a state of transition.

The Berlin Global Dialogue serves as a platform for open and confidential exchanges between leaders from the North and South, as well as the East and West, fostering discussions conducted on equal footing. The primary focus is on facilitating cooperative conversations between leaders representing both business and government sectors. In its pursuit of concrete progress, the Berlin Global Dialogue encourages the formation of new partnerships to drive tangible advancements in various areas.

During his visit, President Wickremesinghe is slated to deliver remarks at the commencement of the Leaders’ Dialogue session on the inaugural day of the ‘Berlin Global’ discussions. Additionally, the President has planned meetings with prominent figures including German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and other influential political and business leaders for in-depth discussions.

Among the notable attendees at this dialogue are German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, European Council President Charles Michael, Belgian Prime Minister Alexander de Croo, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, and President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
