A special Cabinet meeting will be held this evening to discuss the energy and power generation issues in the country. This was decided at the cabinet meeting held last evening. At the moment several power plants have shut down due to lack of fuel.
Ceylon Electricity Board CEB has requested for 2 hours long power cuts due to non availability of fuel for power plants.
Currently Sri Lanka is experiencing both Petrol and Diesel shortage in the market. Long queues report at Filling Stations island-wide. Five ships with petrol and diesel are expected to arrive this week to Sri Lanka.
