Due to the wave-type atmospheric disturbance, showery weather condition is expected to temporarily enhance over most places of the island for the next few days starting today (14).
Showers will occur at times in Eastern and Uva provinces and in Mullaitivu, Matale Polonnaruwa and Hambantota districts. Several spells of showers will occur in Jaffna, Vavuniya, Kilinochchi, Mannar and Anuradhapura districts.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the other areas of the island after 1.00 p.m.
Heavy showers about 100 mm are likely at some places in Eastern, Uva, Western, Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Nuwara-Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.
Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Southern provinces in the morning.
The public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
