Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa has donated school equipment to 50 school children from low income families in Jaffna.
During the visit, PM engaged in religious observances at the Sri Nagavihara International Buddhist Center in Jaffna. PM engaged in a cordial conversation with Ven. Siriwimala Thera and receiving his blessings. Also participated in the donation of school equipment to 50 school children from low income families in the area. The Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs, in coordination with the Sri Lanka Army, provided the sponsorship.
Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa says “We protected the people of the North even then. It must be remembered that the President and our Government are committed today to protect those people and to develop this province”.
