Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has announced that Generator 3 of the Lakvijaya power station at Norochcholai is poised to resume operations on November 29, following a brief hiatus for essential maintenance.

This news comes on the heels of a recent incident where the 2nd generator unit at the Norochcholai Coal Power Plant was temporarily deactivated due to a fault with its High-Pressure Heater System. Authorities acted swiftly to address the issue and implement necessary repairs.

Despite the temporary setback, the CEB assures the public that there will be no disruption in power supply during this period. To offset the reduction in coal-generated power, the hydropower facilities across the country will be operating at maximum capacity, guaranteeing a steady and uninterrupted flow of electricity to consumers.
