B-Love Kandy won the Lanka Premier League (LPL) Final beating Dambulla Aura by 5 wickets.  Dambulla Aura made 147/4 for their 20 overs. B-Love Kandy made 151/5 in 19.5 overs.

The highly anticipated 2023 Lanka Premier League (LPL) Final is scheduled for Sunday, August 20. Dambulla Aura and B-Love Kandy will go head-to-head at Colombo’s R Premadasa Stadium, creating an electric atmosphere. Cricket fans are in for a treat as these two exceptional teams vie for supremacy in what promises to be an unforgettable championship match, showcasing top-tier talent and intense competition.

Led by Kusal Mendis, the Aura has been arguably the most impressive squad in the tournament, dominating the league stage and securing the top position. They’ve left a mark on most opponents in the tournament. In Qualifier 1, a six-wicket triumph against the Galle Titans propelled them into the final. Skipper Mendis, who scored 49 runs off 45 balls with six fours, was named Player of the Match for his pivotal role in chasing down 147.

On the flip side, Kandy entered the playoffs after suffering two consecutive defeats. Under the leadership of Wanindu Hasaranga, the team rebounded with two resounding victories against Jaffna Kings and the Galle Titans. They overcame the Titans by 34 runs in Qualifier 2, with Hasaranga impressively contributing 48 runs and two wickets despite a hamstring injury. He earned the Player of the Match award for his outstanding performance.
