Update – 40 tons of Medical Oxygen arrived at Colombo Port via a commercial vessel and started delivering Oxygen to much needed locations island-wide.
Sri Lanka Naval Ship (SLNS) Shakthi which left to India to bring medical oxygen, will arrive Colombo on August 23 with 40 tons of Medical Oxygen and started delivering Oxygen to much needed locations island-wide.
SLNS Shakthi departed the Trincomalee harbour on 17th August, arrived at the port of Chennai, India in the evening of 18th August. Having taken the delivery of oxygen ordered from the Indian government, SLNS Shakthi will be arrived in Colombo on 23rd August.
Meanwhile, Indian Naval Ship Shakti set sail to Colombo with 100 tons (5 containers) of Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) on board from Visakhapatnam and scheduled to arrive Sri Lanka on August 22.
