The National Transport Commission (NTC) has announced that no revision will be made to bus fares despite the recent fuel price revision.
Chairman of the NTC Shashi Welgama stated that the recent fuel price revision is not sufficient for a bus fare reduction.
Meanwhile, the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (Ceypetco) revised its fuel prices with effect from August 31.
Accordingly, the price of Petrol Octane 92 was reduced by Rs. 12 to Rs. 332 per litre while Petrol Octane 95 was reduced by Rs. 02 with the new price Rs. 377 per litre.
Auto Diesel was reduced by Rs. 10 to Rs. 307 per litre and Super Diesel by Rs. 03 to Rs. 352.
Meanwhile, the prices of Kerosene remains unchanged, according to the Ceypetco.
