Association of Medical Specialists AMS raises concern over the irresponsible behavior of some groups and warns such a behavior will create another wave of Covid19 in Sri Lanka.
Association of Medical Specialists AMS requests all citizens, all opposition parties and other organizations politically inclined or otherwise to join hands to see an end to Covid 19 menace with responsible behavior during this critical period.
Fifth COVID wave if public behave irresponsibly AMS warn!
Sri Lankans have just started to feel the freedom of movement and social integration following a long drawn out battle against the Covid 19 virus. We salute His Excellency the president and all other active participants of the COVID control for their untiring efforts in steering our country to achieve a common goal of COVID free Sri Lanka.
However, the irresponsible and complacent attitude of some groups of the general public disheartens civic minded society who can sense the threat of another surge of Covid 19.
Such behaviour not only undermines what we have already achieved but also sends wrong signals to the rest of the general public to follow suit. If we continue to behave irresponsibly in this way, another wave of Covid 19 will be inevitable. We all should understand that this will be the last nail on the coffin of an already battered economy of the country. While welcoming and endorsing all measures taken by the government to step up border restrictions, as a professional organization we plead all citizens of the country, all opposition parties and other organisations politically inclined or otherwise to join hands to see an end to Covid 19 menace with responsible behavior during this critical period.
