According to the National Building Research Organisation NBRO, Air quality across Sri Lanka is likely to improve today.

NBRO says that the Air Quality Index that measures Air pollution, Colombo has recorded 181 December 08 and it was 122 today December 9. 150 – 200 in the AQI is termed “Unhealthy”. Kandy recorded 158 today.

Pollution level of the air flow from India to Sri Lanka is receding gradually & the atmospheric pollution experienced in Sri Lanka is expected to clear soon.

Dr Anil Jasinghe, Secretary, Ministry of Environment requests children & elderly individuals with respiratory & heart diseases to wear a face mask during outdoor activities.
