According to police, so far over 880 arrested over the May 9th unrest in Sri Lanka. Police spokesman says 883 suspects arrested and out of them 412 suspects remanded while 364 persons released on bail. Police spokesman express gratitude to the public for their interest and assistance in identifying the suspects.

Police further seek public help to identify suspects and arrest them over Temple Trees protest site and Galle Face Protest site GotaGoGama attacks on May 9th.

219 persons arrested on May 17 over the incidents in Galle Face & Colpitty and for attacking persons, causing damages to public & private property island wide.

According to UWN, anti-government protesters set on fire and damaged the residences and offices of at least 100 politicians, including over 60 parliamentarians. More than 80 vehicles including buses which transported pro-government protesters were either set on fire or damaged.
