Several spells of showers will occur in Northern, Eastern and North-central provinces. Showers or thundershowers will occur elsewhere during the afternoon or night.
Heavy showers above 100mm are likely at some places in Western, Northwestern, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and in Galle and Matara districts.
During last 24 hour, 98mm rainfall reported in Kalatuwawa (Ratnapura) area. NBRO issued landslides level-1 warning for Ratnapura and Ingiriya areas.
General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
