Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) Commander Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksha has appointed a committee to probe the aircraft crash incident at the SLAF Academy in China Bay Trincomalle.
The aircraft that crashed at the SLAF Academy at 11.27 am after taking off at 11.25 am was a PT-6 training craft. Both trainer & trainee killed.
The exact reasons behind the crash remain unknown, and Sri Lanka Air Force are investigating to determine the factors that contributed to this tragic incident.
Three years ago, similar training craft PT-6 which took off from China Bay in Trincomalee has crash landed on a road near Janaranjana Wewa, Kantale.
