According to official stats Sri Lanka’s weekly average of PCR tests count show about 8,300 per day. Test positivity rate has decreased to 15%. It was around 35% during early September.
Sri Lanka has reported 514,592 COVID-19 cases out of which 455,344 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospitals. Meanwhile the active patient count has decreased to 46,517. A total of 12,731 deaths have been reported from the virus.
Sri Lanka records the lowest single-day coronavirus deaths after two months as only 51 COVID related deaths reported. About 3350 coronavirus related deaths have been reported in Sri Lanka during September 1 to September 27.
