Payment of an allowance of Rs. 2000 / – to the families who have lost their livelihood due to the temporary closure of the country to control the spread of Covid-19.
It has been identified that it is appropriate to pay an allowance of Rs.2000/- for families who have lost their livelihood due to the temporary closure of the country to control the spread of Covid-19 and do not receive any government allowance. Accordingly, the required funds will be issued to the District Secretaries and the relevant allowance will be paid to the families selected by the Divisional Secretaries.
The Presidential Task Force on Economic Rehabilitation and Poverty Alleviation has issued the required guidelines for this purpose.
Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Finance to release the necessary provisions to the District Secretaries to pay the aforesaid allowance, was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
