Sri Lanka Army troops attached to 142 and 144 Brigades of the Security Force Headquarters-West promptly responding to an SOS call of the Central Blood Bank offered their blood during a blood donation camp, staged by the management of Colombo Vishaka Vidyalaya inside the school compound on 02 July.
Accordingly, a group of 40 Officers and Other Ranks volunteered to give away their blood at the request of the school on the instructions of their Brigade Commanders.
Commander, Security Forces-West considering the acute shortage prevailing in island-wide hospitals gave his blessings for the project.
