Alert 3 (V) Gemunu Watch troops on duty near the main entrance to their HQ at Matara generously assisted a stranded foreigner to move to the nearest fuel station after his vehicle suddenly stopped due to lack of enough fuel July 7.
Information confirmed that the foreign national’s sudden predicament in the mid of the road, blocking its passage prompted the troops to push it to the roadside and find a little spare petrol that could manage him to reach the nearest fuel station in Matara Town.
It was further revealed that one of the soldiers in the camp removed fuel from his private motorbike and donated to the helpless foreign national who was deeply touched by the soldier’s gesture of concern and timely assistance.
