There were multiple injury concerns for Sri Lanka ahead of Monday’s clash against Australia as captain Dasun Shanaka has joined the list of players who will be unavailable.

Matheesha Pathirana is already unavailable with an inflammation in his bowling arm and is estimated to be out for at least 10 days.

Team sources confirmed that both Shanaka and Pathirana will miss Monday’s clash and they are currently assessing the situation to decide the next cause of action.

Prof. Arjuna de Silva, the head of Sri Lanka Cricket medical panel confirmed that Shanaka is having a significant quadricep injury in his right thigh that may rule him out for a significant period.

Both Shanaka and Pathirana missed yesterday’s training session, the first since they set foot in Lucknow, the capital and the largest city in Uttar Pradesh.
