President Ranil Wickremesinghe has expressed his interest to expose Sri Lanka to the world for economic development as promptly as possible and to implement related legal reforms.

Participating as the Chief Guest at the “Indian CEO Forum” held at the Taj Samudra Hotel in Colombo on Thursday (13 July), the Head of State asserted that Sri Lanka is ‘not destined for a Greek tragedy’, despite its recent crises.

“As our economy recovers, we must prioritize economic restructuring”, he said.

Expressing his views at the event, Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Gopal Baglay also reassured India’s continued support towards the development of the island.

“It is recalled here that the Indian government and business community will support Sri Lanka’s economic and physical development. It is an Indian promise”, he said in this regard.
