The Sri Lanka Navy has seized 60 kg of what is believed to be heroin, and arrested 11 suspects, during the operation on the southern seas that was based on intelligence information, says the Sri Lankan Navy.
Following a special operation mounted by the Navy Intelligence, on receipt of information from the State Intelligence Service, a local multiday fishing trawler and one day fishing trawler with a stock of narcotics, suspected to be heroin, has been intercepted on Southern seas.
The apprehended trawlers and suspects aboard are being escorted to the port of Galle as of now for onward action.
