2021 Grade 05 Scholarship Exam postponed and will be held on October 3 Sunday. It was discussed at a meeting that it would not be fair to hold the examinations August due to the schools not being conducted and the syllabus not being covered properly. Hence Sri Lanka Minister of Education Prof. G.L. Peiris said the 2021 Grade 05 Scholarship Exam postponed and will be held on October 3 Sunday.
2021 Grade 5 Scholarship Examination will not be held as scheduled in August this year as the syllabus has not been covered, said the Commissioner General of Examination Sanath Poojitha. Examinations Commissioner General Sanath Pujitha said the Year Five / Grade 5 Scholarship examinations may not be held as scheduled this August, as the syllabi has not been fully covered for the students to prepare for the examinations.
“We held a number of discussions with the relevant stakeholders including the Ministry Secretary, and Zonal Education Directors but no final decision has been taken.
He added that the Examination Department is presently studying the possibilities of holding the examinations later than scheduled. However Pujitha said that all parties agreed that ample time has to be given to the children to cover their syllabi before conducting examinations.
Meanwhile Secretary to the Ministry of Education Prof Kapila Perera stated that Grade Five Scholarship Exam for the year 2021 has been scheduled for August but said that they have not reached a final decision. “We hope to get feedback from teachers covering all schools by April 9th how far the Paha Shreniya Shishyathawa Wibagaya syllabus has been completed. After evaluating those factors, we will take a final decision on the examination,”.
