Due to a low level atmospheric disturbance, thundershowers are expected to develop over the most parts of the island during today August 21 and tomorrow (22).

Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Central, Uva, Northern, North-central, Eastern and Sabaragamuwa provinces and heavy showers above 100 mm can be expected at some places. Cloudy skies can be expected in these areas.

Showers or thundershowers will occur elsewhere, particularly in the evening or night.

General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
