A low-level atmospheric disturbance over South of Sri Lanka has intensify into a low-pressure area and it’s currently located in the southeast to the island. Under the influence of this system, cloudy skies can be expected in the southern half of the island.
Showers will occur at times in the Northern, North-Central, Eastern, Central and Uva provinces. Fairly heavy falls above 50 mm can be expected at some places in Northern, Eastern and Uva province.
Showers or thundershowers will occur elsewhere during the evening or night. Fairly heavy falls above 75 mm can be expected at some places in Sabaragamuwa province and in Galle and Mathara districts.
General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
