Administering Pfizer Vaccines as a 3rd booster dose to those over 60 years will begin from November 17 in Western, Southern Provinces, Anuradhapura and Ampara Districts. Those who eligible should have completed 3 months after the 2nd dose.
Under the first stage, Health, Tri-forces, Police personnel, those engaged in tourism sector & frontline workers administered Pfizer vaccine as a booster dose from November 1st. So far over 100,000 Pfizer vaccine have been so far given as the Booster Third Dose.
Under the next stage, Pfizer vaccine will be administered to all those over 20 years as a Third Dose in Sri Lanka. Government is planning to purchase 14.5 million doses of Pfizer vaccines to administer as the 3rd dose.
