Sri Lanka’s COVID active cases increasing

For the third consecutive day, Sri Lanka records over 1000 COVID cases. Today Sri Lanka reported 1137 coronavirus cases. This caseload is the highest daily cases after about 4 months. Test positivity rate is also increasing and the 7-day average is about 11%.

Sri Lanka’s active COVID patients count reached 18,000 mark again. According to the data reported by the Epidemiology Unit, active cases count shows as 18,000.

Sri Lanka has reported 612,322 COVID-19 cases out of which 578,849 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospitals, bringing down the active patient count to 18,000. A total of 15,473 deaths have been reported from the virus.
