In a significant development for Sri Lanka’s cricketing landscape, the island nation has been chosen as the host for the International Cricket Council (ICC) Annual General Meeting (AGM) scheduled to take place from July 19 to 22, 2024, in the vibrant city of Colombo. This announcement was made by Sri Lanka’s Sports and Tourism Minister, Harin Fernando, who expressed enthusiasm about the positive impact this event would have on both cricket and tourism in the country.

The ICC AGM is a key annual event that brings together cricket board representatives, officials, and stakeholders from various cricket-playing nations. Hosting such a prestigious gathering not only reinforces Sri Lanka’s standing in the international cricket community but also provides a platform for the nation to engage in meaningful discussions and collaborations with other cricketing nations.

Last year, the ICC suspended Sri Lanka Cricket, and later, the ICC lifted the suspension that was imposed on Sri Lanka.
