H.E. Mr. Santosh Jha Arrives in Colombo Assumes Duties at Indian High Commission

Ambassador H.E Mr. Santosh Jha arrived in Colombo today and took charge at the Indian High Commission. After the presentation of credentials, he will assume his new responsibilities as High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka.

Prior to his current position, Mr. Jha served as India’s Ambassador to Belgium, Luxembourg, and the European Union, showcasing his extensive experience in diplomatic roles. With a career spanning over 30 years, he has held diverse positions in various countries and in New Delhi, including a significant role as Counsellor in the High Commission of India, Colombo, from 2007 to 2010.

The outgoing High Commissioner, H.E. Gopal Baglay, officially concluded his term as the Head of Mission to Sri Lanka on December 15, 2023. Notably, Mr. Baglay is set to assume the role of the next High Commissioner of India to Australia in his continued service to the Indian government. (LankaXpress.com )
