The highest number of vaccines per day of 222,010 admininistred on July 8. According to the Epidemiology Unit data, 188,368 doses of Sinopharm were provided as the 1st dose, while 33,550 doses were administered as the 2nd dose. President has advised the health officials to prioritize people over the age of 60, pregnant women and public sector employees during vaccination rollout. President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has instructed the health officials to vaccinate all those over the age of 30 in the Western Province before July 31. So far 60% of this age group in the Colombo District, 47% in Gampaha and 34% in Kalutara have been given the first dose.
