COVID active patients count exceed 30,000 as daily caseload increasing

For the 8th consecutive day Sri Lanka records over 2000 COVID cases, so far today total 2674 new cases report. Today caseload is the highest after June 11th. Sri Lanka’s active COVID patients count has again increased over 30,000. Active patients count is now 30,337.

According to Institute for Health Policy IHP data, Sri Lanka’s “Test Positivity Rate” is increasing again. Test positivity (using PCR tests) shows as 15% while seven day average shows as 16%. In July first week the rate was about 10%. Seven day average of PCR tests indicate as about 14,000.
