During a meeting with the President, intelligence agencies have revealed that recent protests island wide cause of the spread of the coronavirus.
There have been 120 protests across the country in the past month. At least 1,500 people attended each of these. According to the intelligence sources, this mobilization without following the health advice has accelerated the spread of COVID across the country.
Recently there were teachers’ and Principals’ protests island-wide and they demanded the government to resolve their salary anomalies. Over the past few weeks, farmers are protesting across Sri Lanka demanding fertilizer. University students are protesting against the Kotelawala University Bill.
