Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-western provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Galle and Matara districts. Fairly heavy showers about 50mm are likely at some places in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Puttalam, Galle and Matara districts.

A few showers may occur in Anuradhapura and Mannar districts.

Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in Batticaloa and Ampara districts during the evening or night.

The Asia Cup 2023 ODI match between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will be played on Saturday at the RPS Stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka. According to Sri Lanka Department of Meteorology’s latest predictions, there will be “several spells of showers” at times in Colombo but it will NOT thundershowers. According to their area-wise numerical prediction, there will be 20mm to 30mm rainfall in Colombo RPS area which will be an impactful rainfall.

Several foreign weather forecasters also predict evening or night showers in Colombo.

Fairly strong winds about (40-45) kmph can be expected at times in western slopes of the central hills, Northern, North-central and North-western provinces and in Trincomalee and Hambantota districts.
