Bodhi Pooja Held at Kelaniya Temple Seeking Blessings for Namal Rajapaksa

A Bodhi Pooja was held at the historic Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara seeking blessings and well-being for Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) MP Namal Rajapaksa.

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa also attended the religious observance, which was held amid ongoing legal proceedings involving the SLPP parliamentarian.

Namal Rajapaksa was arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) on September 4 in connection with an alleged misappropriation of funds related to the Airbus deal.

The Fort Magistrate’s Court has subsequently ordered that Namal Rajapaksa remain in remand custody until September 30 in connection with the case.
